BSIS-mandated Initial Firearms Course (IFA) 16-Hour Class: $200.00
(Includes latest ASI Firearms Manual, range fees, targets, eye and ear protection, and qualification for ONE caliber. Additional calibers are $10.00 each)
This class is required by the State Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS) for guards wishing to carry an exposed firearm on duty, armored car guards, armed alarm response agents, Private Patrol Operators and Private Investigators with a "License To Carry Concealed" handgun permit wishing to carry "on the job." You must qualify with each caliber you want on your permit.
Birth registration, DD214, Green Card, or other proof of citizenship is required by law. Note: Paying for class does not guarantee passing. Passing the course does not guarantee issuance of a permit. Absolutely NO refunds!
You may bring or buy ammo. You may bring or rent the firearm you wish to qualify with. If you rent the firearm you must buy the ammo from the range. One hundred (100) rounds are required. Fifty (50) for initial practice and fifty (50) rounds for qualification.
BSIS students desiring a LTCC certification also pay an additional: $120.00.
Fifty (50) rounds are required for each additional qualification.
Pre-registration required. ASI wall certificate issued upon successful completion of course.
Day One (ASI Classroom): 0800-1800 hrs.
Day Two (Cordova Shooting Center): 0800-finish

This class has been approved by Sacramento and other counties as appropriate training for an LTCC permit.You must qualify with the serial numbered firearm(s) you want on your permit. LTCC Bi-annual 4-hour Classroom & Re-qualification: $140.00
LTCC Modifications between renewals and mid-year equal: $120.00
Adding Calibers / Re-shooting each (Same day as Initial or Re-qual) $010.00

Initial Class & Semi-Annual Re-qualification Course of Fire
Stage 1: 15 yds 6 rounds in 30 seconds (any standing position).
Stage 2: 07 yds 14 rounds in 45 seconds (includes 2 reloading: load 6, 6, and 2).
[Six rounds must be fired standing and eight rounds must be fired kneeling].
Stage 3: 07 yds 6 rounds in 10 seconds (any position).
Stage 4: 07 yds 12 rounds in 25 seconds (includes reloading: 6 and 6).
Six rounds strong hand unsupported; reload, fire six weak hand unsupported.
Stage 5: 05 yds 6 rounds: 3 rounds in 4 seconds in 2 stages.
Stage 6: 03 yds 6 rounds: 2 rounds in 3 seconds in 3 stages.
Semi-Annual Re-qualification Table
This table shows when BSIS Firearms Permit holders should attend their semi-annual re-qualification.
The dates shown are "not later than..." dates. You may attend earlier than the date shown as long as each re-qualification is at least four months apart. Just fill in the "expiration day" for the month your card expires.

Bi-Annual Renewal of Firearms Qualification Card...
(c) An applicant shall complete and pass a review training course on the laws and standards regarding use of deadly force and the avoidance of deadly force as provided in this section. Two hours of the review course shall be completed prior to completing a range qualification course of fire. The training regarding use of deadly force and the avoidance of deadly force may be administered by a Private Patrol Operator or as person designated by the licensee to administer the Powers to Arrest training. The training can also be conducted by a licensed Firearm Training Facility.
(d) An application for the renewal of a firearms qualification card shall include the following proof of information:
(1) Certification or documentation that the applicant has completed and passed the range qualification course of fire requirements on two separate occasions within the year prior to the card's expiration.
(2) Certification or documentation that the applicant has completed the review course as outline (in CAC 633(d)(2)A.)
Rifle / Shotgun Familiarization & Combat Techniques $160.00
Basics and introduction to combat techniques. Especially for CDC, Armored Cars, and Law Enforcement

Combat Stress-Fire Course (8 hrs; class meets as assigned.) $200.00
Evaluate your shooting capability under stress conditions. We'll raise your pulse rate, then have you shoot (or maybe not shoot) and reload while engaging targets under time. Added stress will be created using props and distractors. You'll utilize instinctive shooting techniques through a variety of scenarios. Targets & range fees included (buy your own ammo). Also included is Rifle & shotgun basics for those interested in armored cars, CDC, and law enforcement. Introduction to combat techniques also covered.
ASI certificate upon completion. Pre-registration required.
